Job Description

1. We are are looking for a Movement Director to be part of the creative team who will work with us on a development week for this new production.

We are currently working on developing a new production entitled “Phased Out” about how we are in danger of disability being “phased out” in the future. We are looking for a Movement Director to be part of the second development week in October 20 – 24th which will be in Dunferlmine, Fife.

The workshop week will have 1-2 days of consultation before we start either on zoom or in person and we will work 10 – 5pm each day in Dunfermline during the week of 20th - 24th October.

We will be exploring using mainly movement and projection to tell this story, the use of text will be minimal. We will be working with one of our Associate Artists whose own life story is the basis for the concept of the play and we are also exploring her lived experience of living with cerebral palsy but never being defined by that!

The Movement Director should be someone who has experience of "interpreting" stories/concepts and looking at how they might then be translated into a theatre production. They will be working with Suzanne Lofthus, Artistic Director of Cutting Edge Theatre as well as a Dramaturg, 4 actors, our Associate Artist and Technical Director with projection experience.

The fee for this work is £900 (all inclusive) and that includes pre-discussions/post-development reporting.
