Job Title: Design & Technology Teacher – Secondary School

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Design & Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Liverpool. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2025, with a strong potential to become permanent.

You will deliver engaging and practical D&T lessons that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, while preparing students with valuable skills for the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across secondary year groups
• Teach a variety of D&T specialisms (e.g., product design, resistant materials, graphics, or textiles, depending on expertise)
• Promote creativity, innovation, and safe use of tools and equipment
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-resourced learning environment
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Contribute to the wider school community through clubs, projects, or extracurricular activities

Requirements

• Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
• Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary school level
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills
• Knowledge of health & safety procedures in a workshop/classroom setting
• A creative, practical, and adaptable teaching style
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
