Overview

Flexible People are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planning and Supervisor to oversee the transport operations at one of our prestigious clients based in Droitwich. This role focuses on ensuring timely and efficient distribution of cleaning products to customers, coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff, and suppliers, and optimizing delivery routes. The successful candidate will supervise a team of transport staff, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards while maintaining high levels of service quality.

Shift Requirements

This role requires a high degree of flexibility, as shift patterns may vary. The working week could follow either a Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday rota, and the successful candidate must be available for both. Typical shift times include:

  • 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The ideal candidate should be prepared to work any of the above shift patterns as required.

Compensation

Rate of pay: £13.06 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport Planning
    • Plan and organize daily transport schedules for the timely distribution of cleaning products from the warehouse to clients.
    • Coordinate and optimize delivery routes to ensure cost-effectiveness and on-time deliveries while considering warehouse stock levels, traffic conditions, and customer delivery windows.
    • Ensure the transport team is briefed and aware of their delivery targets, with contingency plans for any potential delays.
  • Supervision of Transport Staff
    • Supervise and support a team of drivers, ensuring they meet operational goals and performance standards.
    • Provide regular training on health, safety, and operational best practices to transport and warehouse staff.
    • Conduct performance reviews and handle any HR-related issues, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Fleet Management
    • Oversee the condition and maintenance of transport vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.), ensuring they are regularly serviced and in compliance with safety regulations.
    • Ensure proper vehicle allocation, monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and driver usage to optimize fleet efficiency.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and maintenance teams to schedule regular vehicle inspections and repairs.
