Time to Talk West Berkshire is a local charity dedicated to promoting the emotional and psychological wellbeing of young people aged 11–25 and their parents. We provide counselling in schools, online support, community outreach, and training for counsellors and staff, working closely with local partners to make sure no young person faces mental health challenges alone.nJob Purpose
The Charity Services Director will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation, supporting trustees, counsellors, and stakeholders to maintain consistently high standards of service delivery. This role involves leadership, coordination, financial oversight, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement to promote and sustain the charity’s mission.nKey Responsibilities
Leadership & Coordination
Provide line management of the Charity Services team (4 x part-time staff), including annual reviews.nRegular liaison with Clinical Services team to ensure our clients receive the best possible service. A close working relationship with the Clinical Director is essential.nManage charity inboxes and communications, responding to technical and general enquiries (Trustees, funders, counsellors, clients).nProvide induction and support for new counsellors, ensuring GDPR and IT training is completed.nOversee systems including Counsel 360 (C360) and SilverCloud, resolving issues, extending client access, and generating reports.nSupport volunteers and manage annual reviews of services.nFundraising & Marketing
Research and apply for new funding opportunities.nWrite grant applications, reports and thank-you letters to funders.nLiaise with platforms such as Good Exchange.nSupport campaigns, events, and social media presence.nManage publicity, PR, and relationships with partners.nSupport the Young Ambassadors programme.nFinance
Reconcile all bank transactions using Xero.nMonitor budgets and restricted funds.nLiaise with the Finance Trustee.nGenerate and manage school invoices.nReporting
Prepare weekly stats reports for the Chair of Trustees.nProduce quarterly reports for funders and stakeholders (e.g., PDF/PHF).nContribute to annual service reviews and reports.nMeetings & Stakeholder Engagement
Attend Operations meetings (bi-weekly), Trustee meetings, and other stakeholder meetings.nBuild and maintain strong relationships with external partners.nRepresent the charity at local events.nTraining & Development
Complete training as required (Teams, Office 365, GDPR, C360, Silver Cloud).nSupport onboarding and training of supporters and volunteers.nGeneral Administration
Recruitment, induction, and management of volunteers.nMaintain and update the charity website.nOversee annual accounts and service review.nCarry out other duties as required to support the charity’s aims.nPerson Specification
Essential
Highly organised, with excellent time-management skills.nStrong IT skills (particularly Excel, Office 365, and Xero).nConfident communicator, both written and verbal.nAble to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, friendly team.nCommitment to promoting young people’s mental health and wellbeing.nDesirable
