Overview

Job title: Core Banking Solution Architect

Location: London Area, United Kingdom

Employment Type: Permanent / Contract

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework and strategy aligned to business objectives. Assess current IT infrastructure; propose improvements to support digital transformation.

2. Architecture Design: Design and implement enterprise-wide architecture solutions integrating applications, data, and infrastructure. Create architectural models and documentation illustrating systems design and structure.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand requirements. Facilitate communication between departments to ensure architectural alignment.

4. Governance & Compliance: Define and enforce architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across projects. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal IT governance policies.

5. Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovation. Evaluate/select vendors and solutions aligned to enterprise strategy.

6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology and architectural risks. Develop contingency plans to ensure service continuity.

7. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of architectural designs, frameworks, and decisions. Present architecture progress reports to senior management.

8. Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement in enterprise architecture. Lead/participate in training sessions and workshops to uplift organizational capability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven IT Architecture experience (enterprise-scale), including solution design & implementation.

• Core Banking / Legacy Systems: Must have worked with AS400 systems. Experience with Equation (Core Banking application) is highly desirable.

• Architecture Frameworks: Knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate, UML.

• Technology Breadth: Cloud, data management, network architecture, and application development.

• Governance & Risk: Strong knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and risk management.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership.
