The opportunity

It’s an exciting time to join Markel as our business grows, and we have a great new role for a Sales Account Manager to join the team. The ATE sales team are based across the UK so this role can be located at either Croydon or Leeds. The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for handling both customer and underwriting relationships for our commercial ATE product. The position is key for driving growth and will require initiative, discipline and effective stakeholder management.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identifying new leads and converting to new business – Cold and warm leads
  • Manage marketing campaigns, following up via the telephone and booking appointments to help support commercial ATE and other income streams
  • Achieve first call resolution and respond within agreed SLA’s
  • Be the focal point of contact for all commercial ATE clients
  • Cross sell all ATE products across Markel ATE solicitor network
  • Establish and develop a good working relationship with solicitor firms and promote ATE division’s products & services. This will consist of maintaining existing clients and developing new ones
  • Support BDM’s by organising, coordinating and managing diaries
  • Be the main contact for our broker partners and underwriters on commercial ATE

Our must haves

  • Experience in sales, telesales or recruitment
  • Experience in insurance or ATE sales is an advantage but is not essential
  • Experience in proactively identifying new leads/cross-selling and farming existing clients
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and logistical skills
