Job Description

Manufacturing Technician / Basildon / c £25 per hour

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading defence and aerospace company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive innovation in the industry. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Technician to join their team in Basildon.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Electro-Mechanical Assembly and will be well-versed in soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical build.

As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and assembly of electrical and mechanical systems.

This is an initial 6-month contract position (inside IR35) with the opportunity for extension or permanence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilise your experience in soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical build to assemble intricate electro-mechanical systems.
  2. Work within a Defence/Aerospace environment to meet demanding product requirements.
  3. Adhere to IPC J-STD standards during soldering processes to ensure assembly integrity.
  4. Manufacture cable, wire, and harness assemblies according to IPC 620 guidelines, ensuring precision and quality.
  5. Interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams accurately to assemble components and systems as specified.
  6. Collaborate with the quality team to address non-conformance issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
  7. Work with cross-functional teams, including engineers and designers, to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Experience as an assembly technician in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams accurately.
  3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants must be prepared to work as part of a team and be able to work independently at times. Eligibility for security vetting to SC level is required. The role involves on-site work five days a week.
