Job Summary

Part-time Marketing & Communications Officer wanted by Pimlico Musical Foundation to lead our voice, branding & storytelling. Create campaigns, manage social media & promote concerts. £30–35k FTE, flexible working.

The Pimlico Musical Foundation (PMF) is a vibrant charity established in 2015, dedicated to providing free musical education to local children in the Pimlico area. We believe in the transformative power of music and are committed to offering diverse and enriching musical opportunities to young people facing various challenges. Our programs aim to foster talent, enhance community cohesion, and bring joy through music.

This role comes at a particularly exciting time for PMF, as we have recently been selected as https://uk-hb.com/ - HB 's Charity Support Partner for 2025. Our Marketing & Communications Manager will have a refreshed brand identity to work with and help shape.

At PMF, we offer singing instruction across six partner schools and run multiple choirs for children and adults. Our choirs perform locally and at prestigious venues such as Westminster Abbey, Oxford University, Opera Holland Park, and the Barbican. Role Overview
We are looking for an energetic, creative, and strategically-minded Marketing & Communications Manager to join our dynamic and close-knit management team. This is a newly elevated role that offers an opportunity to shape and lead PMF's communications across digital and physical platforms.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will take ownership of our tone of voice, branding, and storytelling-developing and delivering a marketing strategy that amplifies our impact and increases engagement with local families, audiences, and supporters.

You will lead on day-to-day content creation and campaign delivery, as well as help shape our long-term communications approach in line with our values and mission.

We understand that the 'perfect candidate' may not exist, and we don't expect you to tick every box. If you're enthusiastic about our mission and show strong potential in some areas, we'd be excited to support your development and help you grow into the role.

Job Requirements

We are looking for an energetic, creative, and strategically-minded individual to lead the Pimlico Musical Foundation's marketing and communications. You will be a confident writer with a flair for storytelling, able to translate our musical and community impact into engaging content. Essential skills include social media management (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), basic graphic design using Canva or InDesign, and strong organisational ability to manage multiple projects independently. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community members. Basic video editing skills (iMovie or Premiere Pro) and experience in the arts or charity sector are desirable, as is an interest in music and music education. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and will support development for candidates with strong potential in some areas.

Job Responsibilities

The Marketing & Communications Officer will shape and deliver PMF's voice, branding, and storytelling across digital and print channels. You will develop and implement a simple, effective marketing plan to promote our concerts, choirs, and community events. This includes planning and delivering campaigns; creating engaging content for social media, email newsletters, and printed materials; coordinating volunteer-led distribution of flyers, posters, and banners; maintaining and updating the website; managing ticketing for events; and using analytics to track performance and improve results. You will work closely with the Chief Executive and programme staff to identify stories and opportunities, gathering testimonials, photos, and videos to showcase our impact. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a charity's communications strategy, raise our profile, and inspire engagement from local families, audiences, and supporters.
