We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Senior Legal Counsel to support our international RWE Offshore Wind business.

As a Senior Legal Counsel in the Construction & Procurement Law Department, you will collaborate with the RWE Offshore Wind Legal Team and other departments to provide comprehensive legal services globally.

Specializing in Maritime Law, you will support RWE’s offshore projects worldwide as the primary contact for all maritime legal matters.

About the role

• Providing legal advice on complex international construction projects focusing on Maritime Law
• Drafting and negotiating maritime-related contracts throughout the project lifecycle
• Serving as the first point of contact for maritime legal issues and coordinating legal advice
• Monitoring legal matters related to maritime law, advising senior management on risks, claims, and disputes
• Leading standardization and process improvements
• Developing tailored legal solutions for complex challenges
• Building cross-functional relationships and providing legal training

Job requirements and experience

• Collaborative, positive, and solution-oriented mindset
• Fully qualified lawyer with advanced maritime law expertise (e.g., PhD, LL.M)
• Extensive experience in maritime law within law firms or corporate settings
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Strong commercial and technical understanding of industrial projects
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Engaged team player capable of working independently and cross-functionally
• Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial; willingness to travel
• Interest in renewable energy projects and contributing to green energy transition
• Positive, innovative, and supportive work environment with flexible arrangements
