Our client, a leading national law firm with a strong reputation in the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Banking Partner to join and grow their high-performing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, commercially minded lawyer to play a key role in expanding the practice and shaping its future strategy.

The Role

You will lead and develop a broad range of banking and finance matters, with a particular focus on real estate finance. The work will cover:

  • Acting for lenders, borrowers, investors, and developers on a variety of transactions.
  • Advising on structured finance, development finance, investment finance, and refinancing.
  • Leading negotiations and managing complex, high-value deals from inception to completion.
  • Working closely with colleagues across real estate, corporate, and projects teams to deliver integrated client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives to grow the banking and finance offering nationally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, alternative lenders, investors, and developers.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the finance team and mentor junior lawyers.
  • Contribute to the firm’s profile through networking, thought leadership, and industry engagement.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant post-qualification experience in banking and finance law.
  • Proven UK market experience within a leading law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Demonstrable track record in business development and winning new work.
  • Expertise across a broad range of banking matters, ideally with a focus on real estate finance.
  • Strong leadership, client relationship management, and communication skills.

What’s on Offer

  • Clear partnership track and influence over strategic direction.
  • A high-profile role in a supportive, collaborative national practice.
  • Opportunity to lead on major transactions with high-calibre clients.
