Job Description

HR Generalist – Quant-Driven Hedge Fund – London

Our client

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Generalist to take ownership of their global people function. The firm is a cutting-edge, technology-led hedge fund with a strong quantitative focus, operating at the forefront of financial services and digital asset markets. With a fast-paced and performance-oriented culture, the organisation combines the rigour of traditional financial institutions with the entrepreneurial spirit of high-growth technology firms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and enhance the firm’s cultural and operational HR frameworks, ensuring that values and ways of working are consistently embedded across teams and geographies.
  • Partner with senior management on strategic people initiatives, including performance and compensation cycles, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Own end-to-end HR operations, including lifecycle management, payroll review, visa and relocation processes, and automation of HR systems.
  • Support team leads in managing team performance and fostering high-performing, cohesive teams.
  • Drive global coordination of HR matters, including support for international offices and remote staff.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across the people function, leveraging technology and data for optimal efficiency.

Experience requirements

Must have: in order to be considered for the role, the ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a high-performance environment, such as a hedge fund, trading firm, or fast-scaling technology company (Finance/trading focused), in a HR generalist capacity. Unfortunately, candidates without this experience won't be considered by our client.

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and improving key HR areas such as performance management, operations, compensation, and employee initiatives.
  • High level of confidence with spreadsheets, HR systems, and data handling; meticulous attention to detail, especially in sensitive areas like compensation.
  • Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand broader business strategy and cross-functional impact.

Due to the high volume of applications, if you haven’t heard back from the team on this role, unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful. If your profile matches any of our other opportunities, one of our consultants will be in touch.
