Management Accountant

I am looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join my clients finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial and management accounting, along with proficiency in various accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing monthly reports and analysing profit against forecasts.
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments.
• Manage purchase ledger and other transactional finance tasks.
• Perform inter-company reconciliations and month-end journal postings.
• Maintain financial schedules, such as the fixed asset register and accruals.
• Complete month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure all monthly and weekly deadlines are met.
• Oversee employee expenses and supplier payments.
• Handle general office and administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

• Experience in transactional finance (including purchase ledger) with recent exposure to management accounts and month-end processes.
• Strong knowledge of profit & loss (P&L) and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulae and lookups.
• At least 3 years of finance experience, covering management accounting and accounts payable.
• Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or AAT qualified, with plans for further study.
• Detail-oriented with a methodical and proactive approach.
• A team player with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
