Job Description

Do you want to want to champion the rights of every pupil to a high quality, meaningful and rich education?

Hampshire are looking for a leader, who will inspire confidence and clearly articulate an ambition for an excellent, equitable and inclusive education system that lays the foundations for the future well-being and success of all children. Joining our senior leadership team, you will build on the outstanding relationships and commitment to partnership working enjoyed between the family of early years settings, maintained schools, academies, colleges and other post-16 providers to improve educational provision and standards across Hampshire.

You will have a clear understanding of the benefits of multi-disciplinary working in securing better outcomes for children and will be navigating the landscape of the wider children’s partnership to achieve this. You will work across the branch and engage stakeholders to support the design, delivery and evaluation of key strategies, programmes and associated workstreams which support continuous improvement and better outcomes for children. As a member of the Education and Inclusion Branch Management Team (EIBMT), your ability to work closely and collaboratively with other County Education Managers is key to ensuring a co-ordinated approach within the branch. As part of your role, you will be able to articulate a shared, clear vision which inspires and motivates both the range of services you will oversee, and stakeholders where your ability to influence towards shared outcomes will be essential.

Through your senior leadership experience, you will be able to demonstrate the successful and sustained impact of your work to date on outcomes for children. You will understand the principles of inclusion and demonstrate how these would under-pin your work in this role. You will also be deeply committed to improving outcomes for all pupils, but with a particular focus on those who experience vulnerability and disadvantage in its different forms. As the strategic lead for safeguarding in education in Hampshire, you will be conversant and confident in this area, and responsible for promoting effective safeguarding policies and practices in all educational establishments.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to join a strong and supportive peer group of senior leaders offering high quality support, challenge, and intellectual stimulus to a diverse community of education settings, who have high expectations of our services. In this role, you will make a difference to children’s lives through empowering senior leaders and other colleagues to be amazing professionals. These are just some of the benefits you will receive as a Hampshire County Council employee.
