A leading retailer in North London is adding a Transport Manager to their flagship branch to oversee operations while driving continuous improvement
You'll be responsible for all transportation from warehouse to delivery for over 800 deliveries per week while driving continuous improvement across systems & processes internally.
What you'll do:
- Manage a team of 7 direct reports, overseeing admin, transport planners, and an operations manager. Lead a workforce of 33 drivers and 20 forklift drivers/pickers.
- Supervise a fleet of 30 vehicles, including 21 HIABS. Coordinate with Pickers to ensure timely goods dispatch.
- Develop and implement plans to optimize transport operations in the short and long term.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and enhance customer service.
- Manage performance, conduct, sick leave, recruitment, and retention for the entire operation.
- Regularly review health and safety practices to ensure compliance for branch staff and drivers.
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager to ensure thorough vehicle inspections.
- Meet KPI targets agreed upon with the Head of Transport, focusing on continuous improvement

- Proficient in using KPIs to drive and monitor operations.
- Skilled in delegating effectively and leading teams toward clear, target-driven objectives.
- Highly resilient and adaptable to change, adept at challenging the status quo to enhance operational efficiency.
