Responsibilities

The Trainee IT Project Manager will be a member of the Digital Workplace Services (DWS) department which ensures that end user tools (workstations, telephones, printers etc.) and the corresponding technical services (email, telephony, technical directories, office tools, security) all operate smoothly.

Working within the department – you will be involved in:

  1. Delivering and deploying technical solutions, for the UK, which are in line with the Digital Workplace Services central strategy and standards.
  2. Providing full, accurate, timely reports on the financial status and progress of the projects to the Project Management Office and Project stakeholders.
  3. Managing the production of all project deliverables to ensure the successful completion of the project through to Project sponsor acceptance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support lead Programme Managers and Project Managers on various projects underway across all divisions in the bank.
  2. Monitor overall progress and use of resources and report project performance against budget and plan to the Project Sponsor and the PMO.
  3. Coordination of Regular Documentation updates and organise the governance (Steering Committees, Operational Committees) meetings.
  4. Track and monitor Risks, Costs, Delays, Quality Management/follow up.
  5. Creation and publication of dashboards sending to sponsors and project teams.
  6. Support monthly reporting to Regional and Central management, Weekly reporting to DWS management.
  7. Support a good relationship with customers, peers, and providers by managing escalations and communicate with End Users, management, external providers, and other technical partners.
  8. Ensure adherence to GTS standards and security guidelines through actively enforcing and incentivising compliance.

Profile required:

  1. Willing to study the Associate project Management Level 4 Apprenticeship.
  2. Graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree.
  3. Interest and understanding of Project Management methodology and ideally ITIL framework.
  4. Intermediate level of Excel.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Problem-solving mindset and Self-starter who can manage their time effectively.
  7. Able to summarise and present complex subjects to various stakeholders.

Apprenticeship eligibility criteria:

  1. Must reside in England and have been in the EU for 3 years or more.
  2. Must not be on a visa that expires before the end of their apprenticeship.
  3. Must not be on a student visa.
  4. Must not be studying a programme that is at a lower level than they are already qualified in within a similar subject area.
  5. Apprentices must have GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
