Public Relations Officer role at South Norfolk Council.

Position title: Public Relations Officer

Pay: This range is provided by South Norfolk Council. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience—talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high quality, proactive and reactive public relations service to support the delivery of key ambitions and priorities across the Councils (Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council).
  • Manage relationships with national, regional, local, traditional and broadcast media and utilise a full range of social media channels.
  • Attend official events and key meetings for both Councils; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Work closely with the PR Manager and elected members of both Councils; develop strong written and verbal communications across a range of IT packages.
  • Identify good promotional opportunities and maintain an excellent eye for detail; operate as a collaborative team member focused on delivering high standards of service.
  • Progress opportunities and development within a dedicated team of professionals focused on serving the districts.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of public relations and proficiency across a range of IT packages.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and engage with customers; keen interest in local and national political landscape.
  • Prepared to go the extra mile and support development and progression opportunities.
