Public Relations Officer role at South Norfolk Council.
Position title: Public Relations Officer
Pay: This range is provided by South Norfolk Council. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience—talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high quality, proactive and reactive public relations service to support the delivery of key ambitions and priorities across the Councils (Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council).
- Manage relationships with national, regional, local, traditional and broadcast media and utilise a full range of social media channels.
- Attend official events and key meetings for both Councils; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Work closely with the PR Manager and elected members of both Councils; develop strong written and verbal communications across a range of IT packages.
- Identify good promotional opportunities and maintain an excellent eye for detail; operate as a collaborative team member focused on delivering high standards of service.
- Progress opportunities and development within a dedicated team of professionals focused on serving the districts.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of public relations and proficiency across a range of IT packages.
- Ability to work as part of a team and engage with customers; keen interest in local and national political landscape.
- Prepared to go the extra mile and support development and progression opportunities.
