The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Account Executive to join a growing retail new business team in Colchester. This role offers the chance to work directly with clients, both in-office and face-to-face, providing first-class customer care while developing new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in servicing new and prospective customers, building long-term relationships, and promoting tailored insurance solutions in line with FCA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and secure new clients using in-house marketing tools, networking, and referrals.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospects to maximise future conversion opportunities.
  • Attend trade shows and networking events locally and in London to expand market reach.
  • Conduct meetings with prospective clients to gather all necessary information for successful tenders.
  • Ensure all documentation and meetings comply with FCA regulations.
  • Manage new business through to handover, including documentation, policy amendments, survey requirements, and insurer communication.
  • Support colleagues across the business to achieve departmental targets and deliver excellent service.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to aid retention and encourage referrals.
  • Provide prompt responses to enquiries, ensuring all client needs are met within agreed timescales.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, insurance developments, and compliance requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 8 GCSEs grade C or above (including Maths and English).
  • Cert CII (or working towards) desirable.
  • Previous insurance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Organised and effective with time management and prioritisation.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and driven to exceed targets.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
