Job Description

As the Automotive Electronics / Systems Integration Engineer with this luxury car company, you will be responsible for delivering series and prototype lighting electronics and software solutions. This contract requires a degree qualified engineer with experience of vehicle communications/ architecture networks (CAN, LIN, Flexray) and diagnostic tools.


What’s on offer:


Competitive hourly rate (can be outside IR35)


Hybrid - required onsite for Meetings/testing (usually 3 days pw but flexible) plus travel to Germany


35 hours per week


Current end: 31/01/2026 - likely to extend



The role:


Working closely with Group Counterparts to develop Lighting functions, systems and architecture to enable best in class Exterior lighting solutions. Key duties include:


Delivery includes definition & Development of Electrical system SW & functional requirements based on vehicle specifications, developing the interfaces to other electrical systems to support the integration of the Lighting systems for all vehicles.


Development with Group counterparts, necessary input and output information of light software components to develop customer functions, develop and understand behaviour of standard light functions e.g. low beam, high beam, turn indicator, brake light.


Managing software releases in accordance with calibration maturity and build timing


Coordinate and execute validation testing utilising both vehicles and Hardware rig



What will make you successful:


Engineering degree qualified (electronics, electrical engineering, physics)


Previous experience as an Automotive Lighting Electronics / System Integration engineering experience


Proficient with vehicle communications/ architecture networks (CAN, LIN, Flexray) and diagnostic tools


Understanding of FuSi requirements and implementation


Good communication skills to be used across R and D and Group partners


Ability to work independently with autonomy


Flexibility to travel extensively to Germany


Full driving license is essential
