Job Title: Student Support Lecturer (HND Hospitality Management) Location: Broadstairs Salary: GBP25,000 – GBP28,000 dependent on relevant skills and experience. Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Purpose Of Role

  • Provide students with valuable resources and encouragement to help them navigate academic and personal challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist students in developing effective study habits and identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop and follow through with Individual Learning Plans (ILP).
  • Provide regular formative feedback on assignments and monitor progress.
  • Interpret summative feedback and guide students.
  • Maintain records of student assignment submission progress.
  • Act as key point of contact for students with regular meetings throughout the programme.
  • Maintain supportive relationships to help students become part of the learning and teaching community.
  • Encourage and motivate students to think about learning broadly beyond modules.
  • Help students overcome barriers arising from personal or social issues.
  • Offer personal support on academic difficulty, emotional and social problems, illness, or traumatic life events.
  • Deliver one‑on‑one and in‑class lessons on various units.

Other General College Duties

  • Work flexibly as part of the College team to ensure smooth running of premises and facilities.
  • Participate actively in college‑wide activities such as duty rotras, enrolment, and marketing events.
  • Participate in training and team development activities to develop and update skills and knowledge.
  • Understand and be committed to the College health and safety policy statement and safety priorities and be aware of your contribution to them.
  • Be aware of the College equality policies and promote equality and diversity throughout all aspects of work.
  • Be familiar with safeguarding requirements as outlined in College policies and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.

  • Fully computer literate and operate at least an intermediate level with Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
