Civil Engineering Technician – ONC/HNC (BEng Mentorship Programme Available) ELB Recruit is representing an established environmental and engineering consultancy seeking Civil Engineering Technicians with ONC/HNC qualifications—or those looking to progress onto a BEng mentorship programme —to join their growing team. The focus is primarily on drainage design , with opportunities to gain experience in highways, pavement design, and earthworks strategy . The role is based in a Manchester city centre , with flexible hybrid working arrangements . The client has a strong reputation for delivering sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure solutions . With multiple offices across the UK, the consultancy combines the scale to work on nationally significant projects with the independence to invest in innovation, technical excellence, and staff development . Role Overview: As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will: Support the design and delivery of civil and drainage engineering projects Assist engineers with technical design tasks and calculations Participate in site-based activities and surveys Contribute to project documentation, tender submissions, and reports Develop skills in SuDS design, adoptable drainage networks, flood defence schemes, and fluvial engineering This is a hands-on role , ideal for technicians motivated to learn, take ownership of challenges, and progress their career toward a BEng degree and eventual professional registration.
