Job Description

Overview

We are recruiting a volunteer to join our Board of Trustees. Time commitment: 0-5 hours a month. Meeting locations: Southampton or Virtual. Board Meetings: 4-5 per year. Salary: Unremunerated, but expenses paid.

What difference will you make?

Trustees are expected to prepare for and attend up to six Board meetings a year, plus our AGM. Trustees also need to be available to contribute advice and support on an ad hoc basis, as needed by the business, and get involved in committee meetings, focusing on People, Audit & Risk, Finance, and Charitable Impact. Becoming a charity trustee is an opportunity to give back to the causes you love, connect with your community, and develop personally and professionally.

There is no need to have trustee experience to apply; your passion, enthusiasm and dedication are what we value most.

What will you be doing?

City Catering Southampton (CCS) is proudly the UK’s first charitable catering company. We aim to improve people’s lives through delivering wholesome, nutritious food to Southampton’s vulnerable adults and school-age children, supporting their wellbeing, growth and development. We are accredited by Food For Life for our school meals. We strive to help improve Southampton’s health and wellbeing, and seek to expand our impact through strategic governance and strong stewardship on the Board.

We are looking for committed individuals to join our Board to broaden the range of Trustee skills and help lead the organisation through its next stage of development. Trustees contribute actively to strategic direction, policy, goal setting, performance evaluation, and ensuring effective administration and financial stability. We value diverse perspectives and seek to represent the diverse population of Southampton.

What are we looking for?

We are keen to bring a Trustee onto the Board with general knowledge or experience in the charity sector. There is no requirement for trustee experience to apply; your passion, enthusiasm and dedication are valued.
