Overview

Join to apply for the Consultant Psychiatrist role at Harmonia Careers. We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in inpatient settings and potential involvement with patients who may be treated under the Mental Health Act. This position supports flexible working arrangements, including part-time and full-time options, and involves integration with a brand-new acute Mental Health service at Dunnock View.

You will assume Responsible Clinician (RC) duties for Dunnock View with support from non-consultant grade doctors and the Lead Consultant Psychiatrist. You will contribute to clinical governance and the development of the service alongside the senior leadership team.

You may expect to contribute to the delivery of care aligned with NICE guidance and to participate in the on-call Consultant rota.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
  • Medication management
  • Quality assurance, handling complaints and co-production
  • Delivery of NICE guidance
  • Lead and manage the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standards

To be successful in this role

  • Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent
  • Be innovative with the ability to initiate corporate decisions
  • Have an essential understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health
  • Have substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary issues in mental health, and knowledge of purchaser/provider contractual issues
  • Have previous Consultant experience
