Overview

Finance Manager | Bridgend | £45,000-£50,000

Our client, a successful established manufacturing business, is recruiting a Finance Manager to support and lead a team of 4 and to deliver a timely and efficient management reporting process. The role involves hands-on management accounting, month-end close, and reporting financial information to stakeholders across the business, delivering accurate monthly and quarterly reporting including monthly management accounts, budget and standard cost variance reporting, project costing, business KPIs, and monthly VAT returns.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on management accounting, month-end close, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, budget and standard cost variance reporting, project costing, business KPIs, and monthly VAT returns.
  • Monthly revaluation of FX in line with FRS102.
  • Shared responsibility for balance sheet controls and reconciliations to ensure integrity of the management accounts, including review of posted transactions, multi-currency, intercompany reconciliations, fixed asset schedule, stock / WIP.
  • Support the Finance Director to ensure the integrity of financial data and contribute to the development and improvement of financial applications, databases, and reports.
  • Proactively understand business operations and key drivers; identify risks and opportunities with recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Support improvement and development projects, including feasibility studies, financial models, and business cases.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to Finance team members to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate the annual Financial Audit, guiding the finance team and working with Auditors, ensuring implementation of recommendations.
  • Engage with key stakeholders within the business to develop strong working relationships and provide a first-class and professional financial service.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with a minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience.
  • Previous management accounting experience is desirable.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for designing and creating tools and reports.
  • Ability to combine strong Finance and IT skills with a commercial mindset to add value to the business aligned with goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with internal and external contacts at all levels and influence change.
  • Achievement-oriented with good planning, basic project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
