Teaching Assistant - Reading (ASAP Start)

Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive Secondary School?
A "Good" Ofsted-rated school in Reading is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for those considering a future career in teaching or with experience supporting young people in schools, childcare, sports, or youth settings.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils across a range of subjects in Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Assisting with learning in core subjects such as Maths and English
  • Providing guidance and encouragement to students in mainstream lessons
  • Building positive relationships to help pupils achieve their best

Secondary Focus - SEN Support

As part of the role, you will also provide 1:1 support to a pupil with high-functioning Autism (ASD). Experience with SEN is desirable but not essential - the school is looking for someone patient, resilient, and eager to make a difference.

What We're Looking For:

  • A graduate or an individual with strong experience working with young people
  • Solid background in English and Maths is advantageous
  • Previous experience supporting SEN students is beneficial but not required
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and commitment to supporting secondary-aged learners
