Job Description

Accounting Administrator


My client is looking for a highly organised Accounting Administrator to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong administrative skills, and a background in supporting accounting or finance functions. You MUST have previous experience of working within an accounting practice.


Key Responsibilities of Accounting Administrator


  • Downloading CDS VAT statements, filing in VC, and updating controllers
  • Checking year-end controllers, chasing clients, and reporting discrepancies to DT
  • Sending course and webinar communications, and updating controllers
  • Assisting with finalisation of risk questionnaires
  • Preparing Engagement Letters and agent forms
  • Performing KYC checks
  • Comparing client lists from DPM with Confirmation Statement controller records
  • Preparing company structures and sending them to clients
  • Preparing invoices and updating/preparing fee schedules with Aman
  • Filing Confirmation Statements and preparing secretarial documents
  • Managing VAT registrations/deregistrations
  • Sending documents to Companies House and HMRC
  • Chasing clients for outstanding information or documentation
  • Preparing and applying for tax certificates
  • Handling company formations
  • Reconciling Xero transactions (future responsibility)
  • Raising and managing invoices
  • Visiting banks to deposit cash and cheques
  • Renaming and saving monthly invoices


Experience needed for an Accounting Administrator


  • Previous experience in accounting administration or a similar role (preferred)
  • Familiarity with VAT, Companies House, HMRC processes, and client administration
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally Xero
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
