Job Description

The Works

As our in-house Interior Designer, you’ll lead the creative development, design, and execution of interiors for new venues and refurbishments across our restaurant and bar portfolio — while also playing a key role in shaping our transition into hotel and guest room design. This is a unique opportunity to influence how Buzzworks’ signature style translates into exceptional overnight experiences.

You’ll work closely with our Development, Brand, and Operations teams to deliver best-in-class hospitality environments that feel unmistakably Buzzworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead interior design concepts for new builds, refurbishments, and upcoming boutique accommodation projects.
  • Develop full design packages – including mood boards, layouts, FF&E specifications, sample boards, and technical drawings.
  • Oversee the design journey from initial concept through to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and brand standards are met.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery and consistent quality.
  • Travel to site regularly to support implementation and resolve design issues on the ground.
  • Stay up to date with hospitality design trends, especially around restaurant, bar, and boutique accommodation concepts.
  • Evolve and protect the Buzzworks brand aesthetic, while ensuring each space feels unique and locally inspired.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio in hospitality (restaurants/bars; hotel or accommodation experience).
  • Degree in Interior Design or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-phase projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Technical proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar tools).
  • Strong spatial planning, material, and lighting knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail and strong creative instincts.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – site travel is a key part of the role.

What You’ll Bring

  • A love of design and a natural feel for storytelling through space.
  • Excitement about helping shape a new chapter for Buzzworks as we move into guest accommodation.
  • The ability to take ownership and work independently within a high-performing team.
  • A genuine belief in creating feel-good, memorable environments.
  • A strong work ethic and hands-on approach — with creativity and flair at your core.

The Buzz

  • A rare opportunity to help define the look and feel of a growing hospitality brand expanding into new territory.
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
  • Flexible working where possible, within a supportive and energetic culture.
  • Employee perks including dining discounts, wellness support, and career development.
  • Leadership training & development opportunities
  • 40% staff discount across all Buzzworks venues
  • Wellbeing support – Employee Assistance Programme, wellness hub & discounted gym memberships
  • Work within one of Scotland’s most forward-thinking hospitality groups
  • Join a close-knit team with genuine progression opportunities
