Corporate Banking Manager (Development) - Canterbury & Ashford

Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen within our Canterbury & Ashford branch for a Corporate Banking Manager (Development). The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance and development of a corporate customer portfolio and for the winning and onboarding of new customers via proactive and focused business development activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop a portfolio of corporate customers, building relationships and ensuring satisfaction through excellent customer service.
  • Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining how we work and what we can offer in terms of service and facilities.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the Bank’s Credit Policy, interpret financial information, evaluate lending propositions, assess risk ratings and structure transactions; complete credit applications and annual reviews.
  • Develop a sound understanding of the local business market and maintain relationships with professional firms and business introducers.
  • Prepare and check customer documentation, maintain files (including CDD/AML requirements), prepare annual reviews and make payments; ensure processes are followed and data are input correctly to minimise errors and service issues.
  • Work with the Branch team to deliver the highest levels of customer service and Good Administrative Order, and to achieve the Branch Business Plan goals.
  • Understand the products offered by Handelsbanken, competitor products, relevant industry and market driven trends.
  • Identify and offer customers the appropriate Handelsbanken product(s) on a needs basis, communicating succinctly all relevant features, benefits and risks.
  • Communicate a clear message to the market about what the Bank stands for and how we differentiate ourselves from both a cultural and relationship banking perspective.

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good understanding of the Bank’s credit processes
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Structured work practice and a strong sense of administrative order
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent Handelsbanken effectively
